5 Acts of Kindness You Can Do Without Even Moving

We've picked out 5 acts of kindness you can do without living your home!

Bad days can make us feel like we just want to escape reality, but the truth is that small acts of kindness can make all the difference. Good&Kind is a platform full of easy and simple ways to spread kindness, many of which can be done right from your desk or couch at home. Here are a few examples:

   (1)   Donate 1% of your monthly salary to charity. It may seem daunting, but 1% of a salary of ₦20,000 is just ₦200.00. Setting up a recurring bank transfer to a charity of your choice is quick and easy, and can be done online.

   (2)   Write a love list. When life gets busy, it's easy to forget about the things we love about ourselves and others. Write down a few things you love about someone and give it to them – it only takes 5 minutes and is guaranteed to bring a smile to their face.

   (3)   Support a crowdfunding project. Crowdfunding is when people ask for public donations to help fund their ideas. Browse on any social media campaign or crowdfunding posts on social media a few small donations to a project that catches your eye, all from the comfort of your own home.

   (4)   Give kind words to someone who needs them. Social media makes it easy to connect with friends and offer a supportive message when they need it. A simple message like "Hope you're okay" or "I'm rooting for you today" can go a long way in making someone's day.

   (5)   Use Ecosia as your search engine browser. Ecosia plants a tree for every 45 searches you do. With 65.8 million trees planted so far, Ecosia is making a huge impact on the environment, and switching to it is a simple change anyone can make without leaving their desk.

Good&Kind is always open to new ideas for spreading kindness. If you have any to share, please reach out!

Saying what you truly feel Giving true compliments Apologizing when you’re truly sorry Helping others with true intentions Not faking affection to others Not trying to cheat others Not making up a facade while you hide the true you That is being sincere. No matter how difficult the situation is You address it with an open mind You face life with the thought of doing good, Not swindling others out of what is theirs, That is sincerity at its peak!

A sibling to empathy A relative to sympathy An expression of love Compassion encompasses a horde of emotion Dishing out kindness in every stride Loving and hurting for others Giving itself so others are in their right space Devoid of selfishness No iota of self centeredness Compassion makes you remember that you were given all you have And everyone deserves a better life too!

What does it mean to serve? Does it mean you’re beneath the person you’re serving? Or that you just don’t measure up? Or does it mean you are in the position to help others? By offering them an opportunity to get things right? Service is putting yourself in the position to help others Bringing yourself down to earth so others can climb and not fall Making yourself the footstool that elevates others Service requires courage Only the bold can serve Only leaders serve! Service equates leadership.
