About Us

We are all about erasing the stigma and limitations experienced by orphans and vulnerable Children.

Comfort Olubunmi Foundation operates a transitional home for Orphans, and Vulnerable Children (OVC) called Kent Home. Kent Home project promotes the welfare of vulnerable young children, recognising that their wishes and feelings are of paramount importance as enshrined in the children’s act 1989 and the UN Convention on the Right of the Child.

The home was established out of the passion to erase the stigma and limitations orphans and vulnerable children experience, thereby creating an atmosphere and leverage for them among their peers.

Kent Home runs with the vision “where every child matters”. We provide support that rehabilitates, transforms and integrates young lives into the society, which is the ideal place for a child to be nurtured.

The following supports are provided in a comfortable, family-oriented environment; protection, food and nutrition, shelter, medical care, educational and psychosocial support.

As an organisation, we work, partner and also registered with different Governmental and Security Agencies, Community Based Organisations (CBO), Children Centered Networks such as; the Association for Orphans and Vulnerable NGOs in Nigeria (AONN), Association of Orphanages and Home Operators in Nigeria (ASOHON), Child Protection Network (CPN) etc. which has further helped us to rendered services to Orphans and Vulnerable Children through best practice in a child-friendly-family environment both in our shelter (Kent Home) and community.

Currently, we have six (6) teenagers (2 males, 4 females) enjoying Nutritional and Educational Support in a higher institution courtesy of the Foundation. Adequate monitoring and assessment have been done to ensure they are comfortable and educated.

The facility presently houses Fifteen (15) children (7 males, 8 females), and we ensure the children are reintegrated and reunited with their families as long as they can demonstrate that they are financially and psychologically stable to take care of them.

In 2017 my Brother told me about Kent Home operated by COF Foundation which he got to know through his friend. I listened patiently to his gist and testimonies of the good work done by the N.G.O. I was particularly keen on the Kent Home" project, the shelter facility for Orphans and vulnerable children. So I decided to visit Kent Home, it was a enlightening experience, I decided immediately to be volunteer so as to contribute my quota to the home. I later did my industrial training at the home since I studied a Home management course.

I thought I will be contributing to the development of the home eventually the contribution and development was mutual, gained lots of relationships, experiences, capacity building and skills from the interaction with the children, project management, indoor and outdoor activities etc.

Altogether, I can say that my experiences in Kent Home has been enlightening, fun-filled, challenging.  I'm happy that I'm part of Kent Home Story...”
